A Christian Ministry to Youth and Families!

Here's some Volunteer Opportunities.....

After-School Program

Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday   2:30 to 5:30

  • You can help one, two or all four days! If you can't come the whole time, most of the help is needed between 4:30 and 5:30. Help with homework. Listen to children read. Play with children during free time. Organize a craft. Share a Bible Lesson. Offer weekly lessons - instrument; crochet; cooking; language; etc. Or maybe you're more suited to helping with the youth! We have students from 1st through 6th grade.

Other After-School Opportunities

  • Drive vans for pick-ups at school and bring to program. Call for details on this!
  • Prepare, Help Serve, and Clean-up meals for daily program. Call for details on this!

  • If you're interested in volunteering with the kids, fill out a VOLUNTEER APPLICATION and return it to the office. Contact Dan Rupert for more information about our Children and Youth Ministry at (814) 535-8202 or at: danielrupert44@gmail.com.

Sports Ministry

Days vary depending on practices/games

  • Work with kids on Skills Development; help with Sign-In Sheets and various organizational needs; Share a 10-Minute Testimony; Demonstrate Authentic Relationships with Participants
  • Help with or Offer Skill Building Workshops - Basketball or even another sport (Volleyball).
  • Are you interested in another sport other than basketball? We would love to offer activities for a variety of sports!
  • Look for upcoming information on a Summer Sports Camp and how you could help!

Interested servants should call today! (814) 535-8202

Much of the work of New Day depends on the love and faithful giving of its donors and Volunteers! A fair estimate of the number of Volunteers that serve through a year's time (adding both Johnstown and Windber) is well over 250 individuals. This includes folks who work to get our mailings out, helping with our Christmas Gift Wrap Fundraiser at the Galleria to those who serve at the annual Giving Thanks Dinner; from those who come weekly to work with the children, prepare meals for After-School or do light maintenance for us. There are always opportunities for Volunteers!

Family Nights

Monthly or as scheduled

  • Organize Family Fun. Set-up and Clean-up. Be a Stand-in Parent. Mentor a Parent. Have a fun night with the children and their families!
